Porcellio Baeticensis, sometimes known by P.Incantus Baeticensis and the common name ‘Violets’, are a stunning purple hued isopod native to Spain. Hardy, and only a shy less prolific than other Porcellio, these bright and large bugs will be active and visible in any set up once established.
The Violet line are named quite simply for their striking purple coloured hue. As babies they are a light white, with their colours progressing as they age. If kept as display pets good lighting is key to getting the most out of this species. As a fun fact, their light coloration means it can be easy to see brooding females - they’ll have a yellow patch on their top side!
